1976年創立。ニューヨーク市内に点在するCity University of New York(略称CUNY)のひとつ。もともとあったStaten Island Community College（２年制）とRichimond Collegeが合併して創立された。スタテン島の中央部に美しいキャンパスがあり、ニューヨーク市とフェリーで結ばれている。人気の専攻はビジネス、心理学、社会科学、コンピュータなど。立地条件を生かして、ニューヨークにある大手企業でのインターンなどをして、専攻をさらに充実させる学生もいる。
