大学の紹介
1963年創立。ミシガン州にある15の州立大学の中で最も新しい大学。設立当初はSaginaw Valley Collegeという私立大学であったが、1965年に州立大学のシステムに組み入れられ、1987年に現在の学校名になった。アメリカ人学生は州内出身者が99％以上という地元に根ざした中規模の州立大学だが、国際意識のある大学スタッフも多く、国際色は豊か。大学の理念としては、「多様性を尊重し、質疑のしやすい環境を促進することで、卒業生の統率力や専門知識が複合社会の発達に貢献する準備をすること」。
