大学の紹介
1958年創立。ジョージア州南西部にある州立大学で、大都市アトランタから約160キロの距離。中規模大学のため、学生に対するサポートは比較的しっかりしている。70以上の専攻があるが、その中でも人気があるのは演劇と教育学。工学ではジョージア工科大学との共同プログラムを履修できる。演劇、コーラス、学生新聞、オーケストラなどの課外活動が活発。女子バスケットボールとゴルフが強い。キャンパスの寮は、男女共同のもの、障害のある学生向けのもの、留学生向けのものとさまざまなタイプが用意されている。地域柄、アフリカ系学生の比率が高く、約3割を占める。
