大学の紹介
1842年創立。テネシー州レバノンに立地するキリスト教系の小規模な私立大学。「地域で最もすぐれた教育を提供すること」をビジョンに掲げている地元密着型の大学。学生たちが学業と課外活動を通じて人格を高め、リーダーシップを身につける教育をめざしている。8割以上の学生がテネシー州出身で、2017年には大学始まって以来最大の学生数となった。学べる専攻分野は40ほどあって、看護学の人気がとても高い。ほかには教育学、ビジネス、犯罪学など、地域での就職に直接に結びつく分野に人気が集まっている。キャンパスのあるレバノンは小さな田舎町だが、州都ナッシュビルの市街地までは車で40分ほどで出られる。生活コストもリーズナブル。
