大学の紹介
1823年創立。キリスト教サザンバプテスト系の小さな私立大学。当初はJackson Male Academyという男子高校として設立されたが、その後、大学に昇格、いくつかの大学と合併（Union）したことから「Union」を校名にし、共学校となった。小さいながらもおよそ100の専攻課程を設けていて、なかでも健康科学、ビジネス、行政学などが人気。キリスト教の教えがカリキュラムに色濃く反映されていて、ボランティアも奨励されている。キャンパスは田舎を思わせるのどかな雰囲気で、寮の住み心地はいい。大都市メンフィスの市街地までは車で1時間ほど。メンフィスとナッシュビルにもサテライト・キャンパスをもっている。
