1954年創立。ペンシルバニア州フィラデルフィアにあるローマカトリック教会系の大学。「私は自身の責任にのみ導かれる」という理念のもと、リベラルアーツを中心とした教育を行っている。人気の専攻は看護学と初等教育学。大学構内に初等教育センターという幼稚園と保育室を兼ね備えた施設がある。科学系の教育にも優れ、医療技術や放射線技術など実学的な分野も学べる。心理学分野の総合学習を目的とした心理生物学（サイコバイオロジー）や経営心理学といった専門的な科目もある。学生の87％が地元ペンシルバニア州出身。
