1901年創立。中西部ではそれなりに名の知られた良質なリベラルアーツ・カレッジ。ビジネス、アート、教育学、健康科学（とくに看護学）などが人気の専攻分野で、とくに音楽とビジネスの課程に定評がある。キャリア教育にはとりわけ力を入れている。インターンシッププログラムも充実していて、就職率も高い。緑豊かで美しいキャンパスはとてもアットホーム。2,000席を誇る劇場、レコーディングスタジオ、コンピュータ画像処理教室のほか、ガラス細工・装飾美術館、陶芸制作のための釜など専門的な施設が整っている。学生たちはフレンドリーで、多様性に富んでいる。課外活動の中ではスポーツが1番人気。
