1968年創立。ケンタッキー州北部の街ハイランドハイツにある大規模州立大学。もともとは同州でも最大規模の研究型総合大学であるケンタッキー大学の分校として創立された。70以上の分野を学ぶことができ、ビジネス、健康科学、心理学などが人気の専攻分野。キャンパスには近代的な建物が並び、施設もよく整っていて、学生たちの満足度も高い。スポーツの強豪校でもある。ハイランドハイツはオハイオ州との州境にあり、オハイオ州のシンシナティまでは車で10分ほどで出られる。治安がよいことでも評価されている。
