大学の紹介
1897年創立。キリスト教系のリベラルアーツ大学で、神学や宗教学などに力を入れているが、規模の割には多様な分野が学べるカリキュラムになっている。学生の専攻分野でみると、初等教育学とビジネスがそれぞれ3割前後で、この２専攻で６割を占める。次いで宗教教育も人気がある。リクリエーション管理、音楽ビジネス、NPO(非営利機関)マネージメントなどがあるほか、最近2年間でデジタルメディアアーツ、ソーシャルワークなど7つの新しい専攻ができた。これら新専攻の開設もあって近年、急成長しているが、根底のキリスト教精神は変わっていない。マイノリティの学生は少なく、やや保守的な雰囲気がある。留学生は約10カ国から約20名が在籍。学生には寮生活を義務付けている。
