大学の紹介
1947年創立。カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスにある大規模州立大学。設立当初は単科大学だったが、1960年に「カリフォルニア州立大学（CSU）システム」の1校となった。あくまでも地域密着型で、学生の99％を州民が占める。州民であれば入りやすく、学費も非常に安い。基本的には通学生向けで、寮に住む学生は少ない。学生の平均年齢も高い。ヒスパニック系の学生が多いのは土地柄の反映。人気の専攻分野はビジネス、教育学、健康科学などで、実学系の分野を学ぶ学生が多い。キャンパスはロサンゼルスの中心部から車で10分ほどのところにある。都市型のキャンパスで、寮に住まない場合は生活コストがとても高くなる。
