1910年創立。テキサス州キャニオン市に立地する州立大学。近隣には西部開拓時代の歴史的な場所も多く、周りは牧場などが広がる穏やかな学習環境。キャンパス内に45の建物が立ち並び、さらに拡張しつつある。58の大学学部学科と39の大学院学科をもち、経営学、マーケティング、コンピュータサイエンス、エンジニアリングテクノロジーのほか、農業ビジネス学、環境科学など「テキサスA&M大学」系列校ならではのレベルの高い農工学系の科目にも人気が集まる。新1年生は初年度に学生寮に住む規定がある。
