1924年創立。ノースカロライナ州の閑静な住宅地に位置する小規模大学。レベルはほどほどだが、キャリアのある教授から丁寧な指導が期待できる。ビジネス関連に力を入れており、４割がビジネスを選択している。ほかに心理学、コンピュータサイエンス、インテリアデザインが人気の専攻。倫理学（ビジネス倫理、環境倫理、社会倫理）の授業をひとつは履修することを課している。近年、学内施設の建設・改築に力を入れている。国際社会に対応するため多様性を重んじており、学生の出身は国内41州、国外52カ国、アフリカ系アメリカ人が約23％。スポーツが強く、多くの企業がスポンサーとなっている。15の寮がある、学生は入寮が原則。
